Evelyn is yet another talented young woman referred to us because of her excellent reputation in the community. She and her sisters grew up against all odds with a single mother. This did not deter Evelyn from pursuing her education and maintaining her personal integrity. Evelyn was not sure what career she wanted to pursue, and started her education in international business. Through Advance Panama’s relationships, a great opportunity came up for her to intern at Panama’s only amphibian conservation foundation. To pursue this opportunity, Evelyn is switching her major to biology and is excited to pursue this unique experience and become a conservation scientist! Through this program, she will be the first scientist to come out of the indigenous habitat of the famed Golden Frog, Panama’s national treasure. This is the type of vertical integration that advances the local community out of poverty.
